Bystander

Bystander

Starting in a new school is never easy. Eric is the new kid in seventh grade and he needs new friends. He meets the "cool kid" named Griffin. When you're new in town, and a school its kind of hard making decisions on who to hang out with, you don't really know how the person is. Griffin seems like a nice, confident, and popular kid. Eric figures that if he's popular then, he must be nice. After a coupe of weeks of getting to know Griffin, Eric sees a bad side to him. Griffin always seems to be in the middle of trouble and bad things. In addition, if Griffin doesn't like you, or if you get on his bad side then you can become the target of the whole school. Soon things start puzzling into pieces as Eric starts getting drawn into Griffin's dark world, he starts seeing that Griffin is nothing but a liar, bully, thief and mean kid. Eric wants to get out and do the right thing, but in one flash passing moment he goes from the bystander to the bully's victim. This book made me realize how fast things can change, and how your whole life can change just by trying to do the right thing. Many things can put you down, but you have to fight through them to get what you want, and do the right thing, not only for yourself but for others as well.

Fights, bullying, mean mugging, all of these are examples of the conflicts going on in my book Bystander. As you already know, Eric is the bystander until he tries to do the right thing, and soon becomes the victim. The conflict in this book is that Eric is a new kid without knowledge about the kids that surround him. He tries to hang out with the Griffin, the guy that seems cool, nice and popular. But, after a while he figures out that Griffin may not be like he looks like. He sees kids get bullied by Griffin, he tries to do the right thing and stop the problem but he soon goes from the bystander to the victim. Now, Eric is being bullied by Griffin, he's the target of not only Griffin, but the target of the whole school. Will he be able to stop the bully? Or will someone stand up for him like he did for others? Find out in this breath taking book, read it and find out!

Do Sport Fans Go Too Far?

Do Sport Fans Go Too Far?

This article is the best article I have read all my life! Of course I'm only 13, but oh lord! This article talks about something so true and something that really interests you, specially if you're a sports fan. "Do Sport Fans Go Too Far?" well, do we sport fans? I don't think you need a summary to already know what this is going to be about. I'm a BIG soccer fan! According to the article, sport fans take sports too seriously, specially when they are big serious games like the "Fifa World Cup" or the "Super Bowl." Do we really? I know I do. I still remember the day that Colombia lost to Brazil (2-1) in the world cup. I was in Colombia, and when the referee blew the last whistle to announce that we were done, and all the effort we put in that world cup was over in one game we just fell on the floor and cried our hardest. (At least I did) It was one of the saddest days, no one whistled, danced, cheered, nothing, everyone was just in tears. Everyone was calm, of course some people were furious, others were just throwing chairs around but, it was much calmer than when we won all those other games. Every time Colombia won a game in the World Cup, people just went crazy, throwing white powder everywhere! The police even banned it, but no one cared, that was our little celebration. Do I think this article is true? Yes, I do because i know what its like to yell like crazy when my team wins a game, and cry when they lose one. That's the fun part of being a fan, you laugh, cry, yell, shout but still get back up to watch those breath taking games!

Lovetorn Summary and Point Of View

                                              Lovetorn

                                                               By; Kavita Daswani

Imagine moving your whole life across the world, not being able to see your family, friends, neighborhood, nothing just a fresh new start. For others it sounds like a terrifying idea, but others would just love to not see the same faces and start out fresh. Shalini is a young teenage girl that had to move her whole life. She's from India and she left someone really special in her life to move to L.A  because of her dads work. Not only has it been an awful experience for her, but her mom is incredibly mad. They all hated the idea of leaving their whole life behind. The presence of her family back in India, the noise of a crowded table just makes her miss home and she's only been in L.a for 2 hours. Furthermore, can you imagine waking up next to the person you love, the sight of his beautiful eyes and glorious hair. Well, that is not how Shalini felt at all! Shalini left "the love of her life" behind back in India. She feels sad and lonely but a new person comes in her life and makes her feel far more special than her old love mate. Can he change her situation? Or will things get tough between their love? Find out!

Time for POV! Point of view! Yay, well we all know there's first persons, second person, and third person point of view. But, did you know there's more than just one first person? Bloggers! I welcome you to third person Omniscient, and third person limited! Third person omniscient is when the author uses he, she, her, his, they, It's the thoughts of every character are open to the reader. Third person limited is when The author uses he, she her, his, they, and it only tells the main character’s thoughts. Well too much information but just wanted to make it clear. In my book Lovetorn, its first person point of view. I know its first person point of view because in the book it says "I thought of the house I had been born in, the huge rambling structure that was the most imposing bungalow on its quite side street in Bangalore". Here the main character Shalini is trying to explain that she really misses her life back home and as you can see it is in first person point of view.

Lemon Brown Blog

                                          Lemon Brown

I read an amazing story about this guy called Lemon Brown. This fascinating story starts by showing fright and ends up as a warm caring story which is just amazing how the mood changes! Lemon Brown is a homeless man with "a treasure"! Homeless but with a treasure? This book gave me a reaction of shock, because he has so much spirit, and even though he's homeless, he always has something to remember! This story connects to homelessness because it shows that this guy Lemon Brown, is homeless and lives on abandoned places, but it also teaches us that not every time homeless people are alone, sometimes they have a spirit or a thought to keep going for. I just found really interesting how this guy keeps his head up no matter his economic situation. Also, Greg the kid that saw Lemon Brown changed his attitude a lot through the story. I think he changed thanks to Lemon Brown, and seeing how Lemon Brown was proud of his family even if they weren't someone big. Lemon Brown lost his family, and I think after that Greg learned how to appreciate his dad.

This Song Will Save Your Life Summary

This Song Will Save Your Life

                                                     By; Katerin Martinez

"I smile all the time so that nobody knows how sad and lonely I really am." This is a quote, which is very wise and most people can relate to. In my book "This Song Will Save Your Life" there is a girl named Elise. This is an amazing, entertaining story about a girl struggling to find friends, or at least that one person to always be there for her. She tries once, she succeeds but fails extremely big afterwords. I don't know how she can take all this pain of being lonely. Everyone has at least that one person to talk to during the day, to sit at lunch, or to even express their thought to. Well, not Elise all she finds is herself lost in her room, just in deep thoughts of loneliness, without anyone to help her or give her advice. But, then there's a twist in her life where she won't get lost in thoughts or pain, but in music. "Music is my escape from the world" Can music finally heal her pain? Can a song save your life? Well, it changed hers and mine!
