          Okay! So, i'm sure many of you have already read "The Pregnancy Project", and if you have you guys know its one of the best books ever! I barely started reading it, so Im barely at the part where she's introducing her family and all that her mom went through when she was younger. Right now, from what I've read her mom had a lot of kids from just one guy, and that guy used to hit her all the time and well abuse her and her kids. He took them away from their mother and lied by saying that she left them. He won court for some reason, that I don't even comprehend. Just to leave them behind when he left with the smallest child and his new girlfriend to Washington. I don't know about you, but I would've hated to have a dad or a husband like that. You can already make lots of connections with that. So far, I am loving this book. This isn't even the start to this amazing book. I think i'm going to blog more and more throughout this week to keep everyone updated! You can join me by reading this book!

          Okay, well I've decided to make this second paragraph of my blog a "Prediction" paragraph. I don't know anything that's happening so far, since i've just read through the intro. As of what I know, Gaby is famous for her "Pregnancy Project", based on what I've read I don't think Gaby would get pregnant. In addition, the book is called "The Pregnancy Project" It's a project. I think that it's going to be a class project, or she's going to fake the pregnancy maybe to show others how hard it is, or to imagine the pain that her mom went through. Maybe not having the baby, but just the criticism. Either way, i'm looking forward to keep reading this book! Hope you join along with me!

Blade Silver

             Blade Silver is a book with MANY conflicts in it. A book always has a main conflict. In the book Blade Silver the main character Ruth is going to depression. Real bad depression. I just finished my book, but honestly, there are some parts in there where it's just like a movie. You just want to yell out loud "NO! DON'T DO IT." I actually did it and scared my mom a bit. Occasionally she would yell out "Go read outside!" If only she would read it with me. She would understand why I was so anxious. Anyway, back to conflicts; Ruth is struggling so much right now. She has lots and lots of problems. Specially with her mom who just tried to commit suicide. Just put yourself in her shoes, how would you feel? Awful right? You can only read this book to see how Melody Carlson explicitly explains Ruth's pain.



         How does this book make me feel? Well, as I mentioned in the paragraph above, it made me feel anxious! I was done with the book after a week and like 4 days. I would yell out in some parts because it made me feel so mad how some things were being resolved. Im only 13, but I believe I'm pretty mature. Lots of teenagers are mature by this period in their life. Therefore, as a mature teenager I knew that the solution to many of these problems were definitely not right! I was mad, anxious and also sad. The part where I was mostly sad was when I finished the book. I love reading books I can relate to. I was sad because I wish this was like a never ending book. Everything was so clear I could picture it. In addition, I was also sad when I found out why Ruth was cutting, because of problems at home. Its not easy to see your mom die, and its even harder seeing her trying to kill herself. This book made me feel so bipolar but, it was worth it and I loved it! I would recommend it to everyone. Blade Silver

Hello bloggers! Its been a while since I've blogged about any of the books I've been reading, but here I am! Ready to start blogging? Here we go.

BLADE SILVER   

     Blade Silver is a book from the series "Color me Scarred" or "True Colors" by Melody Carlson. The purpose of the author in these books are to support kids, specially teens. Blade Silver is book number 7 of these series. Through these books, Melody Carlson writes tragic but common stories that most teens are probably going through. She starts normally, later on the problem is shown, but at the end it always shows a solution. This means that she's here not only to entertain some readers, but she's also informing. She's informing because she's showing that there's always a solution, but she's also showing others how some of their classmates, or friends are being affected. It works both ways, and I personally can relate to a lot of these books. So, I thank Melody Carlson for her inspiring stories!

    Okay! I know after reading the author's purpose you're probably dying to hear what this one book is about. Well, I shall tell you now. Blade Silver is about a girl who's been through a lot. It all started with her mom having suicidal thoughts, and eventually trying to commit suicide. Of course, Ruth's mom is her daughters image, so Ruth follows in her footsteps. After Ruth's mom trying to commit suicide, Ruth started thinking about everything so differently. That's right, the blade seems to be the only option, and solution in this story. She cuts, a lot. She cuts so much, she doesn't even remember how many times she's picked up that blade and sat there in the bathroom just watching her blood dripping. Ruth wouldn't stop. Summer came and only after a friend spotted the scars on her arms is when Ruth started to face the problem. We all know that a lot of times when you try to solve a problem, a bigger problem is created. Will Ruth get past this phase of her life? Read more and find out!

GOALS FOR 2015

        I've been making changes trough out last year and this year. My grades have been going up and i love the smile my mom gives me when i show her all the improvement i've been making. Last year, i made a goal to this year get a's and b's. This quarter i got a C, next time i know i have to make better decisions with the people i work with. For the next two quarters my goal is to get mostly a's if not all of them. I will try harder in all of my classes, i will try to focus more. Also, i put a new positive ring tone to my alarm, so when i wake up, i wake up dancing and with a positive attitude to come to school and learn.



My personal goal, is to forgive all the bad things that happened in 2014. Forgive, not forget. If there wasn't a person i liked, i wont force myself to like them but I will respect them. No mean mugging, no bad facebook comments. Also, I would try to to smile more. Some might ask, how's that possible? Well, i love laughing and smile, being mad over things isn't my thing. I think that if you laugh, you will have a much more positive day! I really hope this year goes as great as 2014,  even better, not even get one C.

NIGHT

        Night is a book that is very sad, and if you're very sensitive then a tear might excape at some point in the book. This book takes place in the times of the Halocaust, 1994. As we know, jews were being killed many different cruel ways. Not only them we're being targeted, others were but they were a great amount of people. Our Lit teacher always makes us think.. what if one of those jews could've found the cure for cancer? Anyway in my book a whole family is being separated. Elie Wiesel, the author was a survivor, and now he's telling his story. He goes through some long miserable years, that seem like an eternity. He sees horrible things, but he fights for his life. He looses some loved ones, but his mind changes a bit. This book is kind of heartbreaking, but it also teaches a very valuable lesson. It came to me like if it was trying to say "Keep your head up no matter what you go through" Face battles in life but never give up. Kind of like Never Say Never, or Believe. 

        In my book even though there were lots of conflicts as you can imagine. There was one person that was kind of like the "Words of the wiser". He gave advice to Elie. Elie's dad was very sick, he didn't want to eat, he just begged for water. A Blockalteste came close and asked him if he was his soon. Elie replied yes, the officer responded : "Listen to me, kid. Don't forget that you are in a concentration camp. In this place, it is every man for himself, and you can not think of others. Not even your father. In this place, there is no such thing as a father, brother, friend. Each of us lives and dies alone." After this he gave Elie advice as he continued, " Let me give you good advice: stop giving your ration of bread and soup to your old father. You cannot help him anymore. And you are hurting yourself. In fact, you should be getting his rations.." I thought this was very heartbreaking, but the man was kind of right. His father was very ill already, of course in my position i would've given my father, mother or sibling anything I could to help them survive. I think the author put this part in the story to help the reader understand how bad the situation was in this semi- chapter of the book. It is a very short book, but with a lot of thought in it. 

     

Summary & Plot DIVERGENT 3rd blog

Divergent

Imagine fighting, being afraid of being discovered for something that isn't even bad. Feeling guilty and praying to God that no one ever finds out your secret. Your secret of being different. Everyone's unique because they're all different. Not in this life. Tris is a young girl in the world of divergent. Divergent is a place where everyone gets separated based on their skills. Tris gets separated just like everyone else, but she goes to a though group and has to keep her secret, otherwise she dies. She finds someone that's just like her, Tobias. They both share a crazy life of divergent. Can they trust each other, or will they have to fight for everything they have? Of course a good book needs to have romance. Will the world of Divergent bring these two together? Find out!

The plot in this story won't be a house, library, not even in space. The plot as you might guess it is in a futuristic place, or society you can say, where people get separated based on their skills. Tris the main character discovers that she's Divergent, therefore she doesn't fit into one specific category of her special skill. If she is discovered, she will be killed. She tries to keep her Divergence a secret, but throughout her training, she reveals to the trainer, her ability to ace the test and that she is Divergent. Soon Tris and Four discover a plot to overthrow the government, killing hundreds in the process, and they must do what they can to stop it. With the power of Divergence, they may just be the only ones able to save their whole world.

Knight

NIGHT

In my lit class we're learning about the Holocaust and everything that led up to it. We started discussing a lot about it and we finally got books. We also got lit groups. My group was fortunate enough to get the book called Knight. My book is about this guy and his whole family getting sent to concentration camps. Right now we're at the part where they line them all up, spit on them, and tell them they're going to get burned like animals that they are. I think this is intense because why would you telling a person that? There's kids there. In my opinion its really messed up but its hard for me not to keep going since I have to wait for my lit group and the book is so short. Its really amazing but horryifing because there's always that part where you wonder what's going to happen to them? I really like this book and im looking forward to keep reading it.
